This 21 room Wye Valley hotel has installed two 99kW biomass pellet boilers to provide heat and hot water to the guest rooms, restaurant and function room. Set in the beautiful Wye Valley, the Royal Lodge attracts visitors from all over the world. You can have a hearty meal to a light lunch or a cream tea in the restaurant. Getting there:

The Royal Lodge is located at Symonds Yat East on the border of Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire. It is easily accessed from the A40 midway between Ross and Monmouth. Take the turning sign posted Goodrich and follow the B4229 for 1/2 mile. Take the right turn onto the B4432 sign posted Symonds Yat East and follow the road over the river. After 1/2 mile take the right turn marked with the brown information signs to Symonds Yat East. Continue through the hamlet as far as you can drive and enter the car park of the Royal Lodge.
